Industry accolade for PPCF

01 January 2008

The FICP is the highest certification mark for a financial practitioner in Singapore under the Financial Industry Competency Standards (FICS) framework. Each of these distinguished individuals embodies professional competency and excellence, and serves as a beacon of excellence for our financial services industry.

Launched in September 2005, FICS provides financial practitioners with a roadmap to gain professional recognition and gives financial institutions a structured process to build talent and skills. Covering the entire spectrum of financial services, the framework was developed by the industry for the industry.

In July 2007, IBF appointed five FICS Lead Providers to deliver a complete suite of FICS-accredited programmes, covering 53 disciplines in the financial services industry. The five Lead Providers are Financial Training Institute @ SMU, International Compliance Association, NUS Risk Management Institute, Singapore College of Insurance and the Wealth Management Institute.

To date, FICS has been adopted by more than 70 Financial Institutions, training and assessment providers and there are more than 140 FICS-aligned training and assessment programmes that have been accredited. In total, more than 550 practitioners have gone through FICS-accredited training and more than 440 practitioners have been assessed under the FICS framework.
