Teo Ek Tor - Chairman

Teo Ek Tor is the Chairman of the Fund and also Chairman of the IC. Mr. Teo also serves as Chairman of PPG and as Managing Partner of the Investment Manager. He has more than 30 years experience in investment banking and private equity in Asia. Formerly, Ek Tor served as the Regional Managing Director of BNP Prime Peregrine Group in Southeast Asia.  Ek Tor was instrumental in the building up of two major regional investment banking groups - Morgan Grenfell Asia (1980 - 1993) and BNP Prime Peregrine (1994 - 1999).  Ek Tor has extensive board experience and is currently a director of Starhub Ltd, and ServTouch Holdings (formerly Wywy Office Solutions Group). 

Ek Tor is a Singapore citizen based in Singapore. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors degree in Business Administration.

Paul Chacko - Managing Director

Paul is Managing Director of the Fund. He has over 12 years of professional experience, including 6 years at Affinity Equity Partners, a leading Asian buyout firm, and 3i, a FTSE-listed private equity group. He was a director in 3i's Asia buyout team based in Singapore (2008 - 2010) and prior to that a director in Affinity's Singapore office (2004 - 2007). His LBO experience includes Himart (Korea), RT Sourcing (HK), Loscam, and Colorado (Australia). Paul was active on the boards of RT Sourcing, Loscam and Colorado. Prior to private equity, Paul spent 6 years with the Boston Consulting Group in their Tokyo, Stockholm and Singapore offices, leading a variety of operational improvement and strategy consulting projects.

Paul is a Singapore citizen based in Singapore. He graduated from Madras Christian College with a Bachelors degree in 1993 and holds Masters degrees from the International University of Japan (1998) and Virginia Tech (1996).

David Lai - Senior Advisor

David is a Senior Advisor with over 17 years of private equity investment experience in Asia. He co-founded Affinity in 2002 subsequent to the spin-off from UBS Capital Asia. He joined UBS Capital Asia in 1996 prior to which he worked for Prudential Asset Management Asia (PAMA). Prior to joining PAMA, David worked in private equity with Suez Apac of Banque Indosuez.  David's private equity responsibilities have included transactions across Asia and Australia.  He also worked for investment banking house Morgan Grenfell where he specialised in structured and project finance. David began his career with Arthur Andersen where he was a pioneer in the EDP audit practice. 

David is a Singapore citizen based in Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a First Class Honours degree in Accountancy. David is a qualified CPA.

Tan Ang Meng - Industrialist-in-Residence

Ang Meng is an Industrialist-in-Residence at the Fund. He has over 27 years of experience in managing consumer-related businesses in Southeast Asia. For 9 years till 2010, Ang Meng was CEO of publicly listed Fraser & Neave Holdings Berhad where he managed a business of 5000 employees across various F&B-related segments. During this tenure, revenues grew from US$500m to US$1.3b, profitability quadrupled and market capitalisation grew from US$350m to US$1.6b.  He was nominated by Finance Asia in 2010 as one of the Top 3 CEOs in Malaysia.  Prior to F&N, Ang Meng was Regional Director of Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd Group where he spearheaded APB's growth across Indochina and Papua New Guinea. Ang Meng began his career in accounting and finance with Price Waterhouse and Guinness Anchor Berhad before joining APB in 1991. Ang Meng's areas of expertise are consumer goods, financial control and management assessment.

Ang Meng is a Malaysia citizen based in Kuala Lumpur.  He holds a CPA qualification.

Tay Eng Hoe - Industrialist-in-Residence

Eng Hoe is an Industrialist-in-Residence at the Fund. He has over 25 years experience in the information technology industry and supply chain in Asia.  Eng Hoe founded ECS Group in 1985, and led ECS Group to become a regional leader in information technology distribution and services with US$2.4 billion in sales and 37 offices in 6 countries. As Chief Executive Officer from 2000 to 2010, he oversaw the listing of ECS Holdings on the Singapore Exchange in 2001, rapid organic growth, and a series of rollup acquisitions in Southeast Asia. He has served on the boards of a number of business and Singapore government statutory boards, including International Enterprise Singapore from 2004 to 2007. In August 2005, he was conferred the Public Service Medal by the President of the Republic of Singapore in recognition of his public services to the country. Eng Hoe's areas of expertise are supply chain and logistics and operational execution of mergers and acquisitions in Southeast Asia.

Eng Hoe is a Singapore citizen based in Singapore. He graduated from Latrobe University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Melbourne University.

Carl Rodrigues - Investment Manager

Carl is an Investment Manager at the Fund. He is a process engineer by training, with work experience in the Singapore Air Force (from 2000 to 2002) and Tech Semiconductor Singapore (from 2003 to 2006).  He has also worked as a summer intern at Standard Chartered Bank's corporate advisory team in Singapore. After obtaining his MBA in 2007, Carl joined IDG Ventures Southeast Asia as an investment associate.  From 2008 he was a corporate and financial restructuring consultant at Denselight Semiconductor Singapore, handling debt negotiations, new investor due diligence and new business plan development.  

Carl is a Singapore citizen based in Singapore. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Insead and graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (First Class Hons).

Rajiv Wahi - Industrialist Advisor

 

Rajiv is an Industrialist at the Fund. He has over 30 years experience building businesses across Asia and Europe. Mr. Wahi was the Singapore-based President of Cadbury-Schweppes Asia-Pacific from 2003 to 2008. He joined Cadbury-Schweppes in 2000 as Regional Managing Director, overseeing Cadbury-Schweppes' operations in Africa, India and Middle East. Prior to joining Cadbury, Rajiv was Divisional Chief Executive Officer at Hillsdown Holdings plc from 1998 to 2000 and held various senior management roles at Premier Brands from 1989 to 1998, including Managing Director of the Biscuits and Drinks businesses. He is currently a board member of Mediacorp, the leading media and broadcasting business in Singapore. Rajiv brings with him broad-ranging business experience across a range of branded consumer products as well as management team development and corporate governance expertise.

Rajiv is a UK citizen based in India and Singapore. He graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economic Studies.
