Diagnostic Monitoring System

A company which designs, markets and services condition monitoring systems to switchgear and transformer manufacturers and electric utilities. The company has a strong base of original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”) and electric utilities customers including Singapore Power Grid, TNB Malaysia, KEPCO Korea, ABB, Siemens, Scottish Power UK.

This transaction involved a leveraged buyout led by the key principals of Prime Energy Partners, a related company of PPG. A London based private equity firm, which is an experienced investor in the energy sector, participated in the transaction by acquiring 40% of Grid. AMC provided a 13-month bridge financing. AMC divested its interest via a management buyout on 30 January 2008.
